Actor Ramcharan Teja visits the historical Pedda Dargah and Sri Vijaya Durga temple in Kadapa on the eve of release of his film
KADAPA: Film star Ramcharan Teja, son of megastar and Praja Rajyam president Konidela Chiranjeevi, visited the ancient and historical Ameer Peer Dargah, popular as Pedda Dargah in Kadapa on Wednesday and offered prayers.
Ramcharan Teja called on Sajjad-e-Nasheen Khwaja Syed Shah Arifullah Hussaini and took his blessings. He entered the dargah by carrying the ‘poola chaadar’ over his head and placed it on Peerullah Malik’s tomb in the dargah. Sporting a white namaz cap, he offered prayers . Though Kadapa was projected as a hotbed of factionalism, the visit to Pedda Dargah gave him mental peace, the hero told mediapersons in the dargah.
Mass films
The film ‘Magadheera’ is close to his heart as he was fortunate to act in it along with his father Chiranjeevi, said Mr. Ramcharan. He hoped that ‘Magadheera’, the second film of his career, would be a major hit and said he has no qualms in doing mass films, which have patronage of the people.
Mr. Ramcharan, who arrived in Kadapa by train , was led to the State guest house before he left for the dargah around 8 a.m. Praja Rajyam leaders B. Hariprasad and Neeli Srinivas, dargah members Nayeem, Mayana Shafiullah and Jilan accompanied him.
Thereafter, he visited Sri Vijaya Durga temple near Built-Up Junction here and offered prayers to the Goddess for success in his endeavours. Temple founder S. Mallikarjuna Rao led him into the temple and priests welcomed him with ‘poornakumbham’. He then left by car to Tirupati, after waving his hands at enthusiastic fans.
